Hello, my name is Miguel Moreno. I was born and raised in San Pedro, CA. Both my parents were born in Michoacan, Mexico. After high school I served in the US Navy for five years where I was medic. When I departed from my military career in 2006, I attended Cal State Long Beach to finish my Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. Now I am here at Heritage looking forward to making great relationships amongst fellow staff, parents and especially students.
Here is what I believe in when it comes to education. Education goes far beyond the academic realm. I believe that each student is a very unique individual that is capable of growing intellectually, emotionally and socially. It is my main focus as a teacher to provide students with the tools and atmosphere that are needed to reach their maximum potential of growth. There are three elements that are necessary and they are the teachers leading the class, students’ interest steering the course, and instilling respect for themselves and others.
